|
|
"Spirit guide" is a term used by the Western tradition of Spiritualist Churches, mediums, and psychics to describe an entity that remains a disincarnate spirit in order to act as a spiritual counselor or protector to a living incarnated human being.
Traditionally, within the spiritualist churches, spirit guides were often stereotyped ethnically, with Native Americans, Chinese or Egyptians being popular for their perceived ancient wisdom, saints, or enlightened individuals. However, the term can also refer to animals or totems, controls, angels, or nature spirits.
Many modern psychics claim that spirit guides are charged to each light entity on this Earth and on many other planets throughout the universe. Many psychics believe that spirit guides are chosen on "the other side" by us and God(s) before we incarnate, and that they guide us to follow our life's plan because we want them to.
Some people claim it is possible to meet one's spirit guide in dreams or on the astral plane (Astral Projection). Their guidance is said, by some, not to require mediumship.
The Gnostic religious view of a spirit guide is that, on the other side, you and your guide planned your life on earth before you incarnated. You would live the life and your spirit guide would help you along the way. Thus, if this is the case, everyone has a spirit guide because everyone planned their life prior to being born. Therefore, the spirit guide couldn't be a living relative, or an animal. Furthermore, a guide is said to have lived at least one earthly life before becoming a spirit guide so that they can understand the struggles of human life.
Several people offer techniques from experiences they claim say allowed them to meet their spirit guides. There are many published materials by various authors with their own insight into the phenomenon. Scientific experiments have been conducted, and none of the methods has been demonstrated to work.
The techniques that exist range from astral projection techniques to simple mind visualization exercises. It is said that the spirit guide is not on the Earthly plane, but communicating from "The Other Side". "The Other Side" is much less dense atmosphere than Earth, and so therefore it is believed that we must be tuned in to our guides by freeing the mind or doing one of many meditations. Lucid dreams can also help with contacting a spirit guide.

We all have a guardian (spirit) some call an angel that comes to us for our lifetime. They can guide and learn along with us, as we learn from all our earth experiences. These experiences will be colouring or enhancing our soul within the spirit body, which is eternal.
A spirit guide comes to us when we are willing and able to open to the 'more' in the unverse. It has energy beyond the material one we use for our experiences in life. It has a spirit energy.
In which case we would have to be capable of attuning to the spirit level within ourselves to be in connection and contact with the spirit without.
The write up given references reincarntion and many of its attendant factors. There are many (Spiritualism included) who do not welcome this as an explanation of the universe as there is so much more to the spirit realms than constant return gives it credit.
IME if we were to define and design our life before coming to the earth plane, just what would be the purpose in this life? And how would free will choice (which is in obvious display) be available?
If we contacted only those people we knew (from past experiences and lives) how would the earth get over populated? And why would we want to limit any experience with other relationships?
So many ideas, so many diverse awareness of their world and the one beyond. Does anyone truly know it all? When we think we have an answer, it usually arises another question. _________________ God bless, J |

My understanding is we have many guides. Each assigned to help and learn from us. Some guides are assigned to us for specific lessons. We also have a door keeper, also a guide. Who over looks and introduces other guides, as and when they are needed.
Our Door Keeper or main guide never leaves us, but at times are forced to stand back. Some times we do this on an unconscious level by denying them , refusing to listen or refusing to learn a lesson and our time up for that lesson is decided by us. we are all capable of meeting our guides, but only if you have an open mind. We close ourselves off to the spirit world, they are never far from us.
We do have family guides but it is important to remember that they will some times advise us, but their emotions for us can sometimes cloud their guidance in a bias way.
If one wish's to get to know their guides, then ask them to make themselves known to you. if you have an open mind it is as easy as that.
I would recommend a novice starts by asking for his/her main guide or door keeper. And ask for proof until you are satisfied. But the philosophy or the spirit world says, Once we give you the truth and give you your evidence, then the next question will be eagerly awaited. |

Do they learn from us, or do we learn from them? Just wondering where you were going with that enigma?
Family members and animals frequently arise as to spirit guidance. I feel our family comes on love and can and does want what is best for us...but the bossy ones remain so, until spirituality takes over.
Animals just don't talk the same language.
Just some thoughts.... _________________ God bless, J |

| We learn from each other. Guides are consciousness, energy, just as we are. The point of life is to learn unconditional love, responsibility for all we think and do. And not do. And as conscious beings with all the influences in the universe, we will make mistakes. Learning is infinite. |

I agree completely enigma. What are our spirit guides doing while we are learning all these lessons of life? And how do we learn the lessons? I realize it is infinite meaning a never ending lesson. _________________ God bless, J |
