My mum passed away 25 years ago when I was 9. I have seen her as a spirit once and other times she talks to me in my dreams (not as often as I'd like though).
I had one incident 5 years ago when I was having bereavement counselling. Obviously the therapy brought a lot of pent up emotions to the fore. One evening during the course of my therapy, my partner and I were driving to the shops when I started to cry. I was very upset and said, I just want to know that she's okay and with us. It was dark and the windows had steamed up with all my blubbing. As soon as I asked that question, a light shining through the back passenger window caught my eye. In the condensation were written the words: Yes I am, and the light was shining right through them! The hairs on our necks stood on end!
It was a direct answer to my question. I know spirits are made of light, so the warm light shining through the words was significant. But what was more significant to me was the fact the words were written on the window in the back of the car - my mum loathed cars and always sat on the back seat. She never ever sat in the front.
Another thing, that week my sister went to see a medium. She received a message that said - 'my baby has been crying a lot lately' and another about a broken boiler. My other sister (I have 4) immediately knew it was about me as I am the youngest of 7 and therefore the baby. None of my family knew about my counselling. I told my sister that yes I had been crying a lot, (missing my mum, telling her aloud how much I miss her - the most I've ever cried, I think!), but she was disappointed the message wasn't for her (I was hoping she'd ask why I was upset - I think my mum wanted them to know as I often feel alone even though I'm part of a large family. I miss my mum loads as we were very close and I'm not as close to anyone else).
The funny thing about those messages was we replaced our boiler the week before. It'd been leaking and we forked out loads to replace it.
