About 10 years ago, I had a very vivid dream. In it, my guides materialised in my room and gave me a tour of my life so far. We went for a few drinks in a pub in town. I was in the Ladies retouching lippy with one of my guides who said life in Spirit is pretty much the same as on Earth, except you get the opportunity to study more and achieve goals you didn't realise on Earth. At the end of the visit, I was told I've done well on Earth to date, and that many people on Earth and outside of it love me very much. Before vanishing, they handed me a business card with pink flashing lights on it, explaining if I ever needed them, to give them a call.
I then suddenly woke up, heart going like the clappers! I knew about nothing about spirtuality. A friend who did, phoned me that week to say how guides contact us via our dreams. I nearly fell over when she told me that!!

i believe that there are a number of planes of existence and one of it is the realm in which spirits exist. I am not sure how reincarnation works ( I do believe) but I know of spirit contacts etc which leads me to believe that spirits are able to travel between planes.
I know its not as clear as previous posts but its my 10c worth. :)
