Hi,

In the pacific, specific persons are said to have healing gifts so a person from one particular group for example may have the gift of burn healing and persons who have been burnt are told to get such a person to lay their hands over the burns which are said to heal very quickly. Still others have the gift of massage. One such woman, (a lovely pastors wife) that i had the privilege and pleasure to work with (she is now passed) explained that my kids ailments (they were sickly toddlers then) could be healed with a traditional foot massage. I told her I didn't know how to do this and so she proceeded to show me.

That night I went home and massaged my kids feet and they fell asleep before I finished the first foot! I also tried this on my partner who also fell asleep. When I told her about this, she laughed and said that she hadn't told me about the falling asleep bit because she wanted to see if I had done it properly. (mind you after performing one of these, your hands hurt. The belief is that when you draw the sickness or weakness out of someone, you take it into your hands which need to be washed in warm water and salt and leaves and shaken outside with a prayer).
