Automatism is a surrealist technique involving spontaneous writing, drawing, or the like practiced without conscious aesthetic or moral self-censorship. Automatism has taken on many forms: the automatic writing and drawing initially (and still to this day) Automatic drawing (distinguished from drawn expression of mediums) was developed by the surrealists, as a means of expressing the subconscious. In automatic drawing, the hand is allowed to move 'randomly' across the paper. In applying chance and accident to mark-making, drawing is to a large extent freed of rational control. Hence the drawing produced may be attributed in part to the subconscious and may reveal something of the psyche, which would otherwise be repressed. Examples of automatic drawing were produced by mediums and practitioners of the psychic arts. It was thought by some Spiritualists to be a spirit control that was producing the drawing whilst physically taking control of the medium's body.

While some of the physical phenomena of early days of Spiritualism have been replaced (mostly) by mental phenomena, there are still various ways in which the physical has evolved.

Has anyone ever sat down to their keyboard and posted several lines (even paragraphs) before they consciously take control of their thoughts? It is a form of allowing thought to flow through spirit contact.

Psychic Artists are real and valid demonstrations of spirit connection. When we have a talent for art, we can allow the spirit to guide the process.

This is also true of those with a talent for speaking. Allowing spirit input, the speaker merely begins and then allows the thoughts of spirit to fill in the blanks.

have tryed psychic painting and drawing and come up with some strange looking art and drawings. its quite easy you just have to relax and 'shift' into that higher vibration and just go with the flow. you need to try not to look at the picture properly so you dont start taking over the picture. i tend not to look till when i feel i have finished. and i know i am channelling these pictures as they are totally different from my style and sort of take over the paper.

In our neck of the woods we had a psychic artist who drew pictures with her eyes totally shut and they were portraits of loved ones and/or guides. Many a picture was recognized as a loved one - she did my sister.

She was an artist in her own right and then used the psychic abilities to open to this new talent. Unfortunately, she is aging and not up to it as much now - but many benefited from her talents.

I might try this. I was trained at art school and love drawing & painting but don't do enough of it. I ask the angels to step into my aura & help with my drawings and inspiration. It gives me the confidence to believe in myself & know I can produce good work. That aside, I might give this a go. Never thought of it before.

Some people write, some people draw, some people speak well, there are so many creative talents for all of us. When we have used them in the natural, material way, it just seems likely we can also use them in the spirit way. They work on what are our natural talents and skills.

Be empowered to progress in drawing. It is a nearly lost art (pun intended lol) because so few artists want to do it on the psychic level. Each must find their own talents of course.
